REMOTO WEEKLY

SEPTEMBER 5, 2026

This week, scootering is looking straight at Barcelona. Extreme Barcelona is underway, Cash4Tricks warmed up the streets, and Asunción 2026 and KARDO 9 are getting closer.

BARCELONA IS HAPPENING NOW

From September 4–6, Parc del Fòrum hosts Extreme Barcelona again. Scootering has a strong presence: Park Men, Park Women, Street Men and Fernando Park Battle.

Qualifying began on Friday. Street and Park continue this Saturday, with several finals on Sunday.

One highlight is the return of Scootering Park Women after three years outside the program.

The event closes with Fernando Park Battle, a best trick contest dedicated to Fernando Pérez Mañanet.

We won't publish winners yet because the event hasn't ended. Once Extreme Barcelona finishes and official results are available, we'll publish them at REMOTO.

CASH4TRICKS: CASH FOR TRICKS

On September 3, one day before Extreme Barcelona, Plaça Universitat hosted Cash4Tricks.

The concept differs from a contest of runs and scores: land a trick the judges think is good enough, and you get cash right then.

This year, €1,500 was shared between BMX, Skate and Scooter, with €500 for each discipline.

That's why we're not naming a scooter champion. Cash4Tricks is built around individual tricks and instant prizes, rather than necessarily a traditional podium.

KARDO 9: SCOOTERING IN STREET CULTURE

From September 16–20, Vladivostok, Russia, hosts the KARDO 9 Grand Final, one of the largest international projects specifically focused on urban sports and culture.

It matters to us because scootering is officially on the program, alongside BMX, skateboarding, rollerblading, parkour, freerunning, breaking, graffiti, hip-hop, rap and other disciplines.

The 2026 edition has amateur and professional leagues. Riders can reach the final through national and regional selections, online qualifying or an Open Qualification in Vladivostok.

KARDO works differently from many traditional championships. It combines sport, video, projects, fashion and street culture in one event.

International participation is huge this year. The organizer reports representatives from 177 countries throughout the season's process.

Latin American scooter riders are already confirmed. Mauro from Argentina qualified for Vladivostok and will be the only Argentine scooter rider in this edition.

Mexico will also have a presence: Nehos One, an artist from the State of Mexico, was selected to represent the country in graffiti. We haven't found an equivalent official confirmation for a qualified Mexican scooter rider, so we'll wait before naming anyone.

KARDO winners and finalists can receive cash prizes, project support, mentorship and other opportunities within the program.

ASUNCIÓN 2026 IS GETTING CLOSER

The next major date on the world calendar is the World Skate Games Asunción 2026.

The full Games run October 2–18 in Paraguay. World Skate is publishing specific scootering information, including the Park and Street Fields of Play designs.

We're entering the stage when riders, federations, coaches and teams are handling registrations, accreditation, travel and final preparation.

This will also be important for Mexico. The Mexican scene will follow riders who represent the country and the official confirmations published in the coming weeks.

WHAT'S NEXT

Next week brings another event to follow: La Nucía Skate Open — LANUSO 2026, September 11–13 in Alicante, Spain.

Scootering competes on Saturday the 12th. The program has morning qualifying and finals from 12:00.

Tomorrow we'll follow the Extreme Barcelona finals and publish results only once confirmed.

Then attention shifts quickly toward KARDO 9 and Asunción 2026.
