Which Wheels Fit My Scooter?
Which Wheels Fit My Scooter?
The right wheel depends on diameter, width, axle, fork, deck, spacers and riding style. An incompatible wheel may rub, fit poorly, reduce stability or fail to fit the setup at all.
1. Check wheel diameter
Diameter is measured in millimeters. Common freestyle scooter sizes are 100–120 mm, though specialized setups use other sizes. Larger wheels offer speed and roll over uneven surfaces; smaller wheels feel more responsive and compact. Check what your fork and deck accept before ordering.
2. Check width: 24 mm or 30 mm
Many traditional wheels are 24 mm wide, while some modern setups use 30 mm. A fork or deck that doesn't accept 30 mm may rub or prevent fitting. A 24 mm wheel in a setup designed for 30 mm needs the correct spacers to stay centered.
3. Check 8 STD or 12 STD
Most scooters use an 8 mm axle. Some systems, particularly technical brands such as Ethic, use 12 STD. These require compatible parts. Confirm axle, bearings and spacers rather than judging by appearance.
4. Check bearings and spacers
Bearings must seat correctly and the internal spacer must match the wheel's width. An incorrect spacer can cause the wheel to bind when the axle is tightened.
Pre-purchase checklist
- Current wheel diameter.
- Wheel width: 24 mm or 30 mm.
- Fork model.
- Deck model.
- Axle standard: 8 STD or 12 STD.
- One wheel or a pair.
Which wheel suits you?
Street riders often want durability and impact resistance. Park riders tend to prioritize response, light weight and speed. All around riders benefit from balance.
If unsure, send photos of your fork, deck and current wheel. We'll help check compatibility before you buy.
