How to Fly with Your Scooter

How to Fly with Your Scooter

A freestyle scooter may not fit a regular suitcase, can dirty clothes or damage parts, and can raise questions at check-in. Pack it disassembled, protected and organized.

1. Check airline rules

Remoto Pro Traveler is designed around the 158 cm linear luggage dimension, but each airline has its own weight, dimension, checked baggage and permitted item policies. Check directly before flying. There is no universal rule for scooters.

2. Disassemble it correctly

For Pro Traveler, separating the bar from the clamp is usually enough. Keep bolts, spacers and tools in a separate bag to avoid losing them.

3. Protect parts that may hit other items

Bars, decks, forks and wheels can damage clothing or scratch other parts. The Remoto bag separates them. Clean dirt, grease and street residue off the scooter before packing.

4. Tools and metal items

Tools can cause issues in carry-on baggage. Pack Allen keys, axles, bolts and small parts neatly in checked luggage, subject to airline rules.

5. Check weight and volume

A scooter plus clothing, shoes, tools and accessories may weigh more than expected. Weigh your luggage before leaving and check the airline's limit. The original guide's typical ranges are 15–25 kg for checked luggage and 7 kg for carry-on; your airline's actual allowance takes priority.

6. Use a scooter travel bag

Remoto Pro Traveler Backpack carries your scooter, clothing, tools and personal items in one system.

  • Bar up to 25” × 28”.
  • Deck up to 7” × 24”.
  • Wheels up to 120 mm.
  • Recommended maximum packed weight: 20 kg.

It helps organize travel, separate parts and reduce improvisation such as plastic wrapping or carrying the scooter as a loose package.
